Many people are against animal cruelty and it’s hard to believe that there are people out there who are not against it. Those people may not be for the abuse of animals but they may see it in a completely different aspect. There are three main circumstances why people abuse animals.  The first circumstance being when the abuser doesn’t comprehend that their actions are harming the animal. Many pet owners discipline their animal by using physical abuse and they don’t see anything wrong with it because they think physical harm with teach their animals a lesson. Physical abuse is no way to teach your pet a lesson. Giving your animal a light pat is not considered animal abuse but when it’s taken to a higher lever then it’s considered abusive. The second circumstance in which a person would be for animal abuse would be if someone does it on purpose for short period of time. This could be if someone was peer pressured to harm an animal because they think it’s the cool thing to do, many of these cases include younger people. An example of this would if some kids were playing outside and they see a bird flying so they throw rocks at it to see who could hit the bird first. As a kid they may not realize that this hurts the bird and could cause serious pain and suffering to it, or they might just think it’s a bird so who cares. Lastly, the third and last circumstance in which people abuse animals happens with couples to show their spouse that they have control. Others just do it purposely because they get enjoyment out of it. People like this are for animal abuse and their reasoning behind is not a legitimate excuse to cause any harm for an animals that has done nothing to make them upset. “The different forms of deliberate abuse are usually the worst and most physically damaging kinds of abuse, because the owner never knows when it could result in the animal’s death so their abuse is more painful and brutal. If someone is intentionally abusive to an animal constantly, often times a psychologist is the only way to help his or her problem. These cruel abusers are commonly either born with the problem, or obtain them through brain damage, bad surroundings, or were abused themselves.”  In many cases people feel that animal abuse it okay because of things that may have happened to them in their previous years. Usually these types of people have serious issues that they need to deal with. So it’s fair to say that the majority of people are against animal cruelty and those who are for it needs to get help for whatever reason that it is that they are abusing animals for.
